The NIKKOR Z 120-300mm f/2.8 TC VR S is a new kind of sports lens. It covers 120mm to 300mm at a constant f/2.8. Flip one switch and the built-in 1.4x teleconverter takes it to 420mm, so you don’t have to change lenses or carry a second body.
Image quality is close to a prime lens across the whole frame. It’s sharp enough to catch an athlete’s expression, and the background blur looks natural. It suits dim indoor events like basketball and figure skating, and outdoor sports like soccer and tennis, where your distance to the action keeps changing.
