The main feature of this lens is its broad 16.6x zoom ratio, the world's first¹ for an APS-C size mirrorless interchangeable lens when it was released in 2021. It covers a focal length of 18-300mm², allowing you to take a wide range of photos from wide-angle to super-telephoto. In particular, this all-in-one zoom with its 300mm super-telephoto reach is useful in a wide range of situations, from vast landscapes and everyday snapshots to portraits, as well as animals, birds, sports and kids’ events. In addition, the weight is approximately 620g (21.9oz)³, and the filter diameter is φ67mm— the same as many in our mirrorless lens series. The compact design is ideal for use on trips and hikes.

The 18-300mm F3.5-6.3 VC lens is a versatile zoom with speed, precision and responsiveness that ranks at the top of the all-in-one zoom lens category, due in part to TAMRON’s VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor focus mechanism. Even at the ultra-telephoto focal length of 300mm, this lens provides comfortable focusing from the minimum distance to infinity. Its focus tracking expertly captures decisive moments when photographing birds, animals, vehicles or other moving subjects. Since the lens group for focusing can be driven directly without the use of gears, the linear motor suppresses drive noise, making it ideal for still photo and video shooting in quiet environments.
